Systems Administrator (CMDB)

Job Summary:Under general supervision, installs, configures, and supports a local area network, wide area network, internet system, computers, desktops and/or mobile devices.Performs necessary maintenance to support network availability.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:-Designs, configures and tests computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software-Diagnoses hardware and software problems, replaces defective components-Escalates problems to vendor and/or developer for advanced debugging or software correction-Evaluates new technologies or solutions to improve service and efficiency of systems-Monitors network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made-Operates consoles to monitor performance of the computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use-Performs data backups and disaster recovery operations-Performs routine network startup and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records-Plans, coordinates, and implements network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware-Prepares user instructions and documentation for the installation and operation of software and software upgrades-Perform daily and long-term operational and strategic management of hardware and software-Plan, monitor, and record hardware assets and/or software license to make sure they complied with vendor contracts in different software tools-Apply a continuous improvement approach in enhancing the strategies employed in technology spending, as well as in tracking company assets within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) throughout their lifecycle-Ensure effective management of the CMDB and that the content contained is accurateEntry Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in related field from accredited college or universityExperience in CMDB management
