- Demonstrate leadership in all aspects of the dealership. Establish goals and sell the vision to team members in all supporting departments.
- Mentor and develop staff as well as department managers by focusing on long-term growth and progression while empowering individuals to own and drive results in their area of responsibility.
- Utilize parts and service department managers to develop and maintain effective processes that demonstrate consistency and promote customer satisfaction.
- Engage with the manufacturing department to develop and refine processes that are consistent with on-time product delivery while maintaining the highest level of quality and a safe work environment.
- Oversee sales department by directing and coordinating sales territories and initiatives.
- Emphasis on driving sales and increasing market share across complete product offerings.
- Utilize sales reports, P&L statements, and other performance data to measure productivity and set goals while identifying areas needing cost reduction or improvement.
- Oversee company assets and ensure all are accounted for and maintained adequately.
- Promote a positive and professional work environment that fosters open communication, accountability, teamwork, and a commitment to top-level customer service.
- Organize and participate in regular department meetings that encourage an open-door policy and proactively seek feedback from team members.
- Forge relationships with other General Managers that facilitate a collaborative effort to streamline processes across all locations that promote teamwork and open communication.
- Responsible for ensuring safe business practices with a focus on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, business operations management, and working directly with customers.
- Working knowledge and proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
- Strong leadership and business metrics management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively to a large group.
- Experience with performance metrics and process improvement.
- Continual meeting or exceeding of department performance goals.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and analytical skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills.
- Hardworking and self-motivated.
- Awareness and willingness to use Operational Excellence tools and techniques.
- College degree in Sales, Marketing, or Business preferred, but not mandatory.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of heavy/dirt equipment or construction operations is a plus.
- Experience in the manufacturing environment and understanding workflow processes is a plus.
- Great owner that knows everyone in the company. The rest of the leadership team follows his example and knows their people and how to develop them. The owner is willing to make change where needed. He is honest and does what he says.
