Please note that this is a 7 month contract position.Required to have background in biology, chemistry or related field and pipette experience. (Hours are 8am-4:30pm, 100% on-site)This position will be responsible for dispensing and labeling products that are made by the rest of the team. This includes manual dispense via micropipette or peristaltic pump (depending on the section of our reagent production), some dispensing on a Tecan liquid handler, and soon to come one of our fully automated systems. They will also help with lab stocking and other small tasks as needed. No manufacturing of products is planned for this position.Day to day: Each week, production is scheduled for the upcoming week by one of the manufacturing associates. The packaging technicians will be assigned work based on that schedule. They are to complete work orders as assigned each day as efficiently as possible. When they arrive on site, they will have a short time to check in with one of the associates and make sure plans have not changed as far as what is to be done. Ideally, they should have time to prep everything they need for documents and things the day before. They are expected to get into the lab to complete the order or other stocking work as soon as that is done (this was a major issue with a previous ETW hires) and then move on to help others finish any labeling or work that remains (batch sizes differ, so some work takes longer). The labs require PPE (at minimum safety glasses, disposable lab coats, booties, and gloves).As a packaging technician, you will be primarily responsible for dispensing and labeling liquid consumables for our capillary electrophoresis and microfluidics platforms, in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and standard operating procedures in a clean laboratory production environment.You will have an opportunity to become skilled in the use of a wide range of lab equipment, including but not limited to micropipettes, PCR and laminar flow hoods, peristaltic pumps, automated fillers, and labelers. Having the ability to learn quickly on the job, anticipate and resolve potential manufacturing and delivery issues, and maintain the highest level of quality are critical.Job duties:Complete orders as assigned following Standard Operating Procedures, within a clean aseptic environment.Perform daily cleaning of work surfaces and equipment to maintain a clean aseptic environment.Perform packaging, labeling, and lot tracking of consumable products using semi-automated and automated equipment.Management and storage of raw materials,Maintenance and validation of production equipmentManagement of inventory and production processes via SAP ERP software.Working independently and as a team to ensure production deadlines are met.Cleaning, stocking, and lab maintenance duties as needed.Associates Degree or equivalent work experience in biology, chemistry, or related field required. Some experience with micropipettes and automated liquid handling systems highly beneficial.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong documentation skills with high attention to detailMultitasking and problem-solving skillsA positive attitude and ability to work within a fast-paced environmentAbility to continuously sit, stand or walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.Applicants must provide their phone number.
