Director of Software Engineering

Job Description A leader in North American freight transportation is hiring a Director of Software Development to a new team focused on digital transformation. This company is one of the largest servicing and retailers in the country. As they continue their growth, they are focused on making their customer interactions optimized and transparent with a brand-new platform. This Director will be overseeing the design and development of this platform focused on bringing more transparency to their customers. You will be overseeing a team of frontend and backend developers so a background in Java/Spring and React/ Angular is necessary. This is also a cloud-hosted platform that provides their customers the ability to track the timeline and details of their services and as this will be primarily new development, they are looking for this Director to be involved with the design. Their core technology stack is Java, Spring Boot, REST, Angular, and React. They are also a Microservices environment and deployed on Amazon Web Services (AWS). As this is a modern technology environment focused on the ever-increasing digital and cloud computing trends across industries, this is a high-level, high-impact position and excellent for a Senior Manager or current Director to take on more responsibility at a large company. This is a fulltime, salaried position with bonus, strong benefits, and great work/life balance. Required Skills & Experience

• Background with Java, Spring, and REST development
• 10+ years managing an IT department and its team members Bachelors degree in Computer Science required; masters degree or MIS preferred.
• Strong business management skills, including knowledge, analysis, planning, negotiating, and personnel management.
• Experience with incident response, privacy notification and data recovery

• Previous experience with cloud technologies, preferably Amazon or Microsoft Azure
• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
• Prior industry experience
