Job#: 1295328 Job Description: Apex Systems is seeking a Structural Engineer III to join our client, a construction engineering firm. It is a fully remote role, with no travel involved. This is a 6 month contract, with potential to extend or go permanent.Description:As a Civil/Structural Transmission Line Engineer you will support global transmission projects performing design engineering and analysis of transmission line work. Collect and assimilate data for engineering work. Perform research and prepare calculations in accordance with company and industry standards. Develop recommendations for equipment and materials. Understand and work successfully within budget, project schedule, and quality requirements. May assist with providing guidance to engineering team members. Maintain positive client relations understanding client interests and drivers through effective communication with the project team. May assist with business development activities. Key Responsibilities:• Continue to learn and remain current on departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and company policies/procedures • Apply to assigned tasks as appropriate • Begin to independently apply knowledge and comply with company quality program relative to assigned tasks • Support continuous improvement and change management efforts • Prepare a variety of moderately complex engineering deliverables • Perform research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection • Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work • Prepare engineering calculations following standard methods and principles • Understand and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements • Recognize, define, and resolve problems within assigned area • May provide direction and guidance to others • Seek out project leadership to share information and obtain guidance with respect to details of design and interdisciplinary coordination• Assign tasks to and coordinates with other team members • Actively seek to understand client interests and drivers through normal client contact and through interaction and communication with project leadership • Apply understanding of client interests and drivers to their own behavior and performance of the work under his/her responsibility • May provide support to business development or pursuit activities • Share current knowledge of latest technology and processes • May assist with a performance management process, mentoring, recognition, and any corrective actions required Preferred Qualifications:• Experience with the design of utility-scale electrical transmission systems• Structural design of transmission steel and wood structures and their foundations• Experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, LPile, MFAD• Basic structural steel and concrete experience using 3D analysis and design software• Solid experience using EXCEL or similar spreadsheets and MathCAD design templates• Basic knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline Education/Background: Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.#LI-JD10EEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
