This position will be located in Huntsville, AL.Position Overview: The selected Sr. Principal Linux System Administrator will provide support for the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining the physical, functional, and technical requirement baselines necessary to describe the desired capabilities of an evolving BMDS Battle Management, Command & Control, and Communications (C2BMC) system.Essential Functions:
- Provide critical system administration of the software development and ancillary lab environments
- Responsible for overall day-to-day operations, system security and availability
- Providing response to security incidents
- Install, configure, monitor, manage and maintain all Linux based servers and workstations
- Create and maintain Linux server documentation
- Recommend system enhancements, including but not limited to, servers, applications, storage, processes and procedures
- Assist the help desk in responding end users requests/issues
- The selected candidate must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment providing coordination of activities within the Development organization.
- The candidate must be a self -starter who is able to initiate research and evaluate new software development tools, processes and procedures.
- Bachelor's Degree 9 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 7 years of related experience, or 4 years of experience with a PhD.
- Strong experience in Linux system administration and security implementation
- Experience with Ansible playbook development and management
- SE Linux and Red Hat repository administration
- CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent) DoD 8570.01M IAT Level II - Certification
- A final U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
- Experience with STIG compliance via Ansible
- Knowledge of MFA Authentication implementation
- Windows and Active Directory experience
- Experience with HP Onboard Administrator configuration/management
- A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance.
