Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI). This position will be in Huntsville, AL.Position Overview: The Cyber Systems Engineer will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems and or developing deliverable Products. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Also supports the actions and processes necessary to manage, track, transfer and present classified resources between authorized environments for Program and Government use.Essential Functions:

  • Supports integration efforts of new requirements analysis of cyber security features and relates existing system to future needs and trends, provides engineering recommendations, and resolves integration and testing issues.
  • Supports Product leads in collecting budget, schedule, and earned value management (EVM) metrics and supporting artifacts related to the Program operations.
  • Contributes to authoring technical contract deliverables.
  • Performs classified user and data management actions for the Program.
  • Interfaces with internal integrated product teams and external entities including law enforcement, intelligence, teaming Industry partners and other government organizations or agencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the needs of Program Management.
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related experience, or 6 years of related experience in lieu of the degree.
  • Experience working in the Cybersecurity Industry supporting classified data environment operations, software and hardware development.
  • Certifications: Full DoD 8140 qualification.
  • Experience supporting a DCSA authorized environment in information system security representative operations.
  • Experience using eMASS (enterprise mission support system).
  • Experience following an Agile and DevSecOps process model.
  • Experience with Document Management release process and CDRL authoring.
  • High level of proficiency supporting eMASS (enterprise mission support system).
  • Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs.
  • A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance is required to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems with an emphasis on System Security and 2 years of related industry experience.
  • Experience supporting Missile Defense Agency, classified environment systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development practices, Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), and Scaled Agile Framework.
  • Experience with Jira.
  • Experience in authoring standard operating procedures or technical instructions.
  • Established approval to support DCSA requirements for information system security officer roles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical teams and Government customer personnel.
  • Experience analyzing complex problems and developing solutions based on direction and definition.
  • Experience with MS Project is highly desirable.

Salary Range: $82,400 USD - $123,600 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
