Media Prep Technician/Lab Support

JLA International, a Leader in Food Safety, is now accepting applications for a Media Prep Technician/Lab Support position at its facility in Edenton, NC.

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

- A high school diploma or GED (required); an associate degree in Biology or related field (preferred)

- Basic math skills

- Good attitude and willingness to work with others

- Good communication and organization skills

- Ability to follow written directions

- Ability to regularly lift 25lbs

Media Prep Technician duties include: media preparation, sample sorting and log-in, sample testing steps (supervised), compositing using aseptic technique, transcribing results, data entry, inventory control, routine maintenance of DI water system, washing glassware, general laboratory cleaning, and other tasks as assigned.

This is a full-time position in which the employee will be eligible for standard benefits after a brief waiting period. The schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm. The laboratory operates weekends, so candidates must be willing to work some weekends.

Due to exposure to various food allergens in the laboratory environment, applicants with moderate-to-severe food allergies, particularly peanut allergies, are discouraged from applying.
