BUSINESS UNIT CONTROLLER - METALWORKS As a Business Unit Controller, you will be responsible for accounting operations and business performance analysis to actively advise leadership in the development and execution of key financial and operational strategies. Principal Duties and Accountabilities: Metalworks is a wholly-owned subsidiary of U.S. Engineering Company Holdings (“Holdings”), with plant locations in Johnstown, Colorado and Lawrence, Kansas. While this position is focused on the Metalworks business, this position must also establish a strong partnership with the Holdings accounting department to leverage the various resources provided by Holdings to all of its subsidiaries.

Monitor all revenue and expense categories, prepare monthly financial statements, variance and performance analysis, cash and revenue forecasts, and benchmarking.

Work closely with leadership to identify and implement key financial and operational improvements, set financial policy, and assist in the development of key financial performance dashboards and other performance indicators.

Maintain cost accounting for production lines and responsible for various other financial and accounting matters, including the general ledger, pricing, billings, cash management and other asset management, overhead, budgeting and internal controls.

Develop and analyze financial plans, budgets, and other financial information.

Review all financial metrics and interpret results to assist leadership in setting priorities, measuring improvement and identifying areas of concern.

Conduct ad hoc analysis and perform special projects to facilitate decision making.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business required.

Experience:

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance, general accounting and/or audit.

Certified Public Accountant preferred.

Experience within the manufacturing industry preferred

Frequent sitting, use of keyboard, monitor, 10-key and telephone.

Ability to travel as needed; frequent travel to regional offices and/or plant locations.

This position can be located in either Kansas City, MO or Westminster, CO.

Benefits and Compensation:

The range for this position has been established at $100,000 to $129,480 and is US Engineering’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.

Your total compensation will go beyond the number on your paycheck. Team members are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance as well as paid time off. An industry-leading benefits package including health, dental, and vision plans, and retirement.
