SUN FOREST CONSTRUCTION, Central Oregon’s most longstanding and diversified custom home builder and remodeling company well known for its integrity, quality and service is currently hiring for a full-time RESIDENTIAL DRAFTER.

Position Summary:

This individual will assist the design department by preparing detailed drawings and plans of architectural and structural features for new custom homes and existing homes including addition and remodel designs using REVIT.

Qualifications:

Proficiency with REVIT, 1-2 years experience preferred

Candidate must have some residential design and building experience

Some college experience or degree required; architectural courses or formal education required

Experience with as-built drawings, construction documents, and plan notation required

Understanding of construction concepts as they pertain to residential building

Valid Oregon Driver’s License & good driving record that meets insurance requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Must be computer literate with REVIT.

Must have the skills and ability to interpret complex architectural plans, details, and blueprints.

Working knowledge of construction practices; some hands-on construction experience helpful.

Understanding of design principals and spatial relationships.

Must be personable and articulate with a polished and professional image, and able to represent the company both verbally and in written communications.

Must be detailed, well organized and an effective time manager to ensure that all aspects of the project assigned are completed on schedule.

Must have excellent interpersonal skills to interface effectively, collaboratively & professionally with co-workers, clients, sub-contractors, vendors, and others involved with business operations.

Must have high ethical standards & be able to uphold Sun Forest’s excellent reputation in the business community.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Forms a solid partnership with the design and sales team throughout the design/build process & generate customer loyalty to SFC through confidence in the quality of our product, enthusiasm, charisma, communication skills, and design knowledge.

2. Apply drafting and technical knowledge & techniques to prepare working and as-built drawings.

3. Apply field notes to detailed technical drawings.

4. Balance time appropriately between office and field duties.

5. Ability to independently review and correct work to ensure accuracy.

6. Effectively & professionally communicate with all parties involved with the project on a regular basis, including keeping the Department Manager informed of any challenges or issues that may arise.

7. Apply construction and design background to analyze and prepare working drawings.

8. Exhibits good judgment, high ethical standards, and competent decision-making skills at all times, and represents Sun Forest reputably with our clients, staff, suppliers, business associates, and in the community.
