ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The description and responsibilities listed below represents the most significant duties of this position. It is not intended to be all-inclusive. Duties may be added or deleted at the discretion of management.
General
o Overall knowledge of company and customer goals.
o Preserve product conformity and integrity through proper shipping, handling, and storage.
o Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work are to facilitate manufacturing functions.
Job Specifications & Communication
o Verify shipment documents.
o Determine shipping priorities – coordinate with shipping manager.
o Build shipping boxes as needed.
o Pack goods to customer specification and pay attention to special packaging instructions (as applicable).
o Prevent product damage during packaging and shipping.
o Ensure all orders have been filled out correctly.
o Use hand and power tools to clean, finish, deburr, polish, and grind parts.
o Perform minor repairs (such as small dents or scratches).
o Follow and accurately interpret written instructions and job travelers.
o Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
o Ensure proper documentation is entered on work travelers and timecards (including correct quantities).
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Two years related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Some walking up and down stairs. Building cardboard shipping boxes and packaging product to prepare for shipment. Occasional lifting; no more than 40-lbs.
