This position will analyze financial information, prepare financial reports and maintain record of AR & AP, Assets, Liabilities, Profit & Loss, or other financial activities within an organization. The occupant in this position is expected to maintain skills and knowledge essential for successful job performance by means of workshops, seminars, off-site training and research.JOB DUTIES:
-Applying principles of accounting to analyze financial information.
-Preparing financial documents as required.
-Compiling and analyzing financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounting entries, documenting business transactions.
-Analyzing financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and preparing Balance Sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position.
-Timely processing of payments and applying transactions to the appropriate general ledger accounts.
-Reporting suspicious activities, transactions or errors to supervisor on a timely basis.
-Assisting supervisor in implementing internal controls, improving processes, budgeting and preparing for audits.
-Ensuring that proper accounting principles are followed.
-Determining, investigating and resolving billing issues and problems resulting from questions from Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable transactions.
-Preparing reconciliations of bank accounts and credit card statements.
-Ensuring accurate recording of AP invoices, AR invoices & GL journal entries in the accounting system.
-Other duties as assigned.EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
-Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. 0 to 2 years of financial and accounting experience.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
-Intermediate computer skills to include MS Office, QuickBooks and internet.
-Intermediate to advanced level MS Excel skills.
-Understanding of governmental and reporting requirements.
-The ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
-Work independently and use good judgment.
-Demonstrate pro-active attitudes, practices and behaviors for organizational goal attainment.
-Ability to coordinate activities effectively and maintain professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
-Complete projects and assignments in agreed upon timeframes.
