Shipping Customer Service

JOB SUMMARY: The position will manage all aspects of seed shipment. This position is a critical element in Burlingham Seeds’ supply chain.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES AND TASKS:

Arrange the shipping and receiving of seed to our plant from other seed warehouses.

Select transportation companies and negotiate competitive shipping rates.

Plan daily and weekly blending schedules to ensure customers’ freight is shipped timely.

Coordinate with freight broker and other seed warehouses to ensure prompt movement of shipments.

Arrange product delivery schedules with customers and carriers.

Communicate with brokers and logistics providers to resolve any potential issues or delays.

Ensure contracts and other forms of purchases and procurements are satisfied.

Prepare foreign shipment documentation.

Create bills of lading, packing slips, and other shipping documents.

Ensure documentation is completed accurately for certified seed mixes and movements.

Oversee the creation and accuracy of product analysis tags for shipments.

Stay up to date and comply with seed trade rules and regulations.

Communicate promptly with outside sales reps. regarding customer orders, shipments, problems, and concerns.

Interact professionally with warehouse, shipping personnel, and delivery drivers to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

3-5 years prior experience in busy office environment.

Ability to complete multiple tasks consistently, on time with strong attention to detail.

Proficient with current software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Proven leadership, problem solving skills, along with the ability to work independently.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
