Interior Design Assistant

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Award wining Interior Design Firm, Ryan Young Interiors, is hiring a Part-Time Interior Design Assistant to work directly with our Regional Design Director in the Summerville area. This is an exciting opportunity to learn the model home business & the processes of designing all aspects of a home’s interiors from the ground up. This includes specification documents, furniture, lighting, bedding, window treatments, art, accessories, and installation. This position will be working on projects across the eastern seaboard.

JOB DUTIES / REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

Part Time Position: 15-25 Hours/week

Managing Library, Project Samples & Binders

Completing Specification Documents & PowerPoint Presentations

Writing up worksheets for ordering & keeping budgets current

Working directly with vendors & sourcing out new

Bidding projects with Bedding & Window Treatment workrooms

Handling project reselects when items are out of stock

Tracking goods with the purchasing department

Light hand drafting

Attending out of town installations 5-10 times/year

WORK ETHIC & PERFORMANCE:

Manage assigned labor & goods budgets

Ability to multi-task

Hardworking & Thorough

MUST have a high attention to detail

Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint

AutoCAD proficient

Has the ability to travel on installs for 3-4 days at a time

- A Project Install is a scheduled date when all goods arrive to the jobsite & we set up the home from top to

bottom with a delivery crew – checking in goods, placing artwork, making beds, unboxing & setting up

accessories, etc.

Strong time-management, communication & organizational skills
