Legal Assistant/Building Manager needed for small estate planning/probate law firm in beautiful residential setting in Spokane’s south hill.
Qualifications:
AA degree minimum
Law office experience strongly preferred or demonstrated transferrable skills
Experience in estate planning and probate preferred
Strong computer/tech skills (practice management system/database use, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe PDF, scanning/filling)
Highly organized and attentive to detail
Strong phone, email and written communication skills, including typing skills
Friendly and supportive with clients, but comfortable setting boundaries
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize based on attorney and client feedback
Skilled at using and facilitating virtual work (Teams, Zoom, email documents, web portals, etc.)
Self-starter able to work efficiently with or without supervision
Comfortable following established workflows and procedures, but able to problem-solve and think on your feet
Punctual and reliable
Interested in long-term position
Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support for two part-time female attorneys (one remote, one local) in estate planning, probate, and business law practice
Answer phones, screen potential new clients, provide stellar client support
Open and manage files, data entry, scan documents, draft basic legal documents
Manage attorney calendars and appointments
Client billing, expense entry, and some bookkeeping
File/record documents with court clerk’s office, treasurer, and auditor
Proactive management of client files to ensure cases and projects are moving forward in timely manner, regular follow-up with attorneys and clients
Manage/coordinate building needs for law office and additional rental building (snow removal, landscape maintenance, cleaning services, repairs, internet, utilities)
Benefits:
30-40 hours per week, negotiable, but set schedule once established, generally Monday through Friday 8:00 to 5:00
