Excelsior Holistic Schools, a subsidiary of Excelsior and located on the Excelsior Wellness Campus, is looking for a reliable and team oriented Education Support staff.

WHO WE ARE:

Excelsior is a private non-profit integrated healthcare and education organization. For over 30 years we have provided specialty education, healthcare and innovative co-occurring behavioral health services to children, adolescents, young adults and their families. Education, behavioral health, primary care, and recreation services are integrated to provide holistic and comprehensive services to those we serve.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Part-Time Education Support staff will assist educators and paraeducators in the daily delivery of education services. This will include 1:1 student interaction and physical education support.

SHIFTS:

  • This is a part-time position with available shifts Monday - Friday and between the hours of 7:30am - 3:30pm.
  • No Holidays or weekends required.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum two years experiencing working and/or volunteering directly with youth; Candidates with proven experience in Education preferred.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population of staff and students.
  • Ability to calmly and repetitively model appropriate behaviors and challenging situations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make ethical and safe decisions.
  • Ability to use the senses of sight and hearing to effectively and safely supervise students.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check clearance.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists in the instruction and supervision of enrolled students; supporting assignment completion, explaining directions/concepts, and administering non-standardized tests/curriculum-based measures.
  • Uses appropriate and organization approved behavior management techniques to maintain a therapeutic and supportive climate for learning.
  • Sets and maintains identified expectations for student achievement and behavior; uses effective communication to motivate students.
