SummaryThese positions are located in the Utilities Branch of the Facility Management Division within Yosemite National Park.ResponsibilitiesAt the WG-8: this position is intermediate in responsibility and is expected to be at a level of proficiency to allow for the completion of work assignments under less supervision than the Helper WG-5, and will be expected to work alone under some circumstances. The incumbent will be expected to operate and troubleshoot lift station functions to include pulling and clearing clogged submersible sewage pumps and grinders, use ladder logic diagrams to determine cause and effect of control errors and equipment failure. Operate water production systems to include turbine and centrifugal pumps and assist USRO's in the adjustment of Well flow control equipment such as blow-off valves, surge anticipators, as well as perform maintenance on chemical injection feed pumps and CL17 chlorine analyzers. Operate government vehicles. Must possess a California Grade 1 Water Distribution Operator License (D1), or equivalent, a California Grade 1 Water Treatment Operator license (T1), or equivalent and a California Grade 1 Wastewater Treatment Operator license (WW1), and a valid state driver's license. At the WG-10: Performs maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment pertaining to water treatment functions and lift station operations. Lubricates equipment and inspects for malfunctions. Installs and repairs new and existing piping systems of many different types and sizes. Troubleshoot, repair and calibrate a variety of multi-component industrial and precision measurement instruments. Keeps accurate and detailed records of repair and preventive maintenance performed. Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets SCADA data trends, meters and gauges to determine process requirements. Adjusts valves and gates and starts and stops pumps and generators to control and adjust processes. Also starts up and shuts down outlying seasonal water and wastewater systems. Operate various types of vehicles and equipment. Must possess a California Grade 1 Water Distribution Operator License (D1), or equivalent, a California Grade 1 or 2 Water Treatment Operator license (T1, T2), or equivalent, and a California Grade 2 Wastewater Treatment Operator license (WW2), or equivalent, and a valid state driver's license. If selected at the WG-08 grade level, you will be expected to complete the training and obtain the certifications required to advance to the next higher grade level, up to the full performance grade of WG-10. In addition, you will be required to update and maintain these certifications as required by the State of California.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentU.S. Citizenship required. This position requires the incumbent to have a California Grade 1 Water Distribution Operator license (D1), or equivalent. This position requires the incumbent to have a Waste Water Treatment (WW1 or WW2) License or equivalent. You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 2-3 nights per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes. Government Charge Card: You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority. The incumbent may be required to work in adverse weather conditions in temperatures from zero to 120 degrees Fahrenheit and at elevations from 1,500 to 12,000 feet.
