AUCTION HOUSE SEEKING EXPERIENCED WAREHOUSE MANAGER (Chadds Ford)

Busy Auction House in Chadds Ford looking to hire a warehouse manager to help organize and develop new systems to handle incoming estate consignments.

You are responsible for the safe and efficient movement of all property flowing through the loading dock, warehouse, photo areas, and showroom: unloading, unpacking, and receiving of incoming consignments, setting up and breaking down auctions, assisting clients with the packing and removal of purchases. Facilitate customer pickups, releases to shippers, buyers, and returns to consignors.

You will effectively work with other staff members to develop and maintain orderly storage and recordkeeping procedures from intake through the entire cataloging and sale process to reconciliation of consignor accounts.

You must review all incoming consignments, identify categories and value ranges for designation to particular types of sales. Familiarity with online auctions is also an essential skill set.

The qualified and successful candidate will have 10-plus year’s market experience in antiques, collectibles, and fine art. Thorough knowledge of the estate auction process is essential.

Computer proficiency is required with a good working knowledge of general online research and the usual collectible and fine art databases. Proficiency in google sheets/Word/Excel is required. You will need to thoroughly learn and become proficient in the auction software systems used for client and consignment management. You will also participate in preview and auction days with client interaction and absentee/phone bidding functions.
