Job Title: SEO Manager, BioSciences DivisionRequisition ID: 124692BRLocation: Carlsbad, CA or US- RemoteWhat will you do?The SEO Manager is an in-house SEO expert responsible for managing all aspects of our organic search program across the BioSciences Division (BID) product portfolio; from measurement and analysis of the current status, to recommending solutions, and then action planning and follow-through to ensure our search rankings are constantly improving to drive high-quality organic traffic to our products. In addition, you will work with colleagues across BID to increase institutional awareness of SEO and help each to understand how they impact SEO. You also will work closely with the Corporate SEO team to ensure alignment with overall thermofisher.com goals, governance and best practices.The core responsibility for the role is to define and implement an SEO strategy that benefits BID on all things related to organic search. You'll be involved with co-workers across various roles in our division and within the BUs such as marketing, product management, UX design, web development, and other in-house SEO colleagues across the company as well as agencies supporting execution of SEO strategies.The ideal candidate has a thorough understanding of Search Engine Optimization, has a proven track-record of successfully creating and implementing SEO strategies for global brands. This person must have hands-on experience with SEO tools, knowledge of current best practices and emerging trends, and passion to instill SEO thinking in the organization. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and a sense of urgency.Key Responsibilities:

Develop a deep understanding of our current SEO performance/metrics and BID marketing goals

Create a BID-specific SEO roadmap for site updates, testing, and technical SEO requirements

Build a strong partnership with the Corporate SEO team to influence technical SEO improvements

Monitor organic search performance for BID pages. Create and maintain an SEO dashboard to surface issues, drive decisions and inform stakeholders

Constantly check against major search engine algorithm updates, and competitor strategies.

Continuously review and identify opportunities to improve overall keyword rankings for BID

Present informed recommendations about what SEO can do for an organization, to help educate & convince stakeholders of its importance.

Determine areas for improved optimization and communicate required actions across the business to drive implementation

Manage and maintain internal SEO communications with other marketing and analytics teams

Establish strong partnership with BID Paid Search team to maximize SERP coverage and elevate the performance & profitability of each methodology.

Establish close partnership with BID Content Strategist to support development and improvement of marketing content with SEO best practices

Establish and maintain close coordination and knowledge sharing mechanisms with China SEO team

Perform all job duties consistent with the Thermo Fisher code of ethics and the 4-I values

How will you get there?Education:

Bachelors Degree in related field

Experience:

Minimum 6-8 years of experience leading SEO strategy and execution for large complex websites

Thorough understanding of factors that influence Google's propensity to crawl, index, and rank content

Strong command of SEO concepts and their practical application on a complex, global website

Working knowledge of HTML and CSS

Strong experience with SEO tools like Conductor Searchlight, SEMRush, Moz, etc.

Hands-on experience with Google Search Console and Adobe Analytics

Deep understanding of content marketing, and how SEO fits in the overall picture

Perform website audits and develop recommendations to ensure SEO best practices for new pages across the website.

Knowledge of ecommerce product management best practices, particularly when it comes to developing content modules on PDPs/ landing pages that will rank for SEO purposes.

Maintain high-level knowledge of SEO needs for Baidu

Passion to stay current with the latest search trends and anticipate future developments

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

Determination to influence others and drive results

Ability to convert complex data and concepts into concise visuals to convey information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Ability to communicate with web development teams to provide constructive insights and education

Ability to build relationships and work effectively with business partners in diverse locations via phone, email, and up to 10% travel

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines

Positive attitude and proven ability to work cooperatively as a team member and share responsibility to work toward common goals

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with international optimization (localization and translation)

Experience with SEO for Baidu

Experience in the Life Sciences industry
