We are currently seeking an experienced, dynamic and collaborative professional to serve as Software Automation Developer IV within our Information Technology team. Reporting to the Manager of Quality Assurance you will:

  • Collaborate with a cross functional team of product owners, software developers, system analysts, and system engineers to enforce quality deliverables through automation

Responsibilities Working in a creative and fast-paced environment, the Software Automation Developer IV will ensure high quality of delivery for critical business functions through design, development, and integration of test automation frameworks. Among others, your responsibilities will include the following:
  • The position's essential duties include the following:
  • Design, code, test, debug, maintain, and document software automations;
  • Establish and improve software automation development standards and procedures, and recommend automation development best practices;
  • Support critical business functions by leading the architecture, design, development and maintenance of automation framework for applications thereby maintaining quality standards;
  • Conduct peer code and design reviews;
  • Analyze business and system requirements to design automation plans, develop automation scripts, setting up test Environment and Analyzing test Results.
  • Lead software automation, provide expertise to multiple projects and ensure that specifications are met;
  • Collaborate with development teams and other stakeholders to understand the applications to provide good automation coverage;
  • Research, evaluate, recommend and implement automation technical solutions, tools, COTS and open-source products;
  • Lead application integration efforts;
  • Represent the IT department in terms of software automation development expertise in coordination with other departments;
  • Maintain a high level proficiency with a wide range of technologies
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a small team;
  • Other specific duties as assigned.

About You The successful candidate will excel at operating in a diverse and fluid environment, and will be crucial for the success of the Information Technology Division.
  • You have 8 years Software automation experience in an agile environment
  • You are proficient in at least 2 of: Java 7+, .NET, Bash, Ruby, or Perl
  • You have 5 years' experience in Behavior-driven development using Cucumber
  • You have 6 years Development frameworks (Spring, Junit, Selenium)
  • You have 6 years' experience RDBMS (E.g. Oracle, SQL Server, Postgre)
  • You have 4 years' experience working with CI/CD pipelines (Bamboo, Jenkins)
  • You have experience with REST APIs and tools like Postman, SoapUI

Desired
  • Experience in Appian or similar Business Process Management platform
  • Experience working with Codeless automation tools using AI.
  • Experience in Designing/implementing end to end automation frameworks
  • Experience with scripting languages
  • Experience with high transaction/data volume systems
  • Prior experience with USF
  • Prior experience with Non-relational DBs
  • Knowledge of application security concepts
About USAC The FCC has reformed the USF to support further investment in and access to evolving broadband infrastructure, making the programs a primary vehicle to support this critical national priority.
