The role you’ll contribute:The Coder - CV/IR is responsible for ensuring accurate coding and billing of all Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures. Provides training in CPT coding and billing for all Cardiovascular and IR procedures, and assists with orientation for new employees. The Coder is responsible for maintaining and updating procedures, monitoring regularly to ensure compliance with these procedures, assisting with billing inquiries and issues, and maintaining the price file for all campuses. Audits documents to ensure accurate coding and billing of all Cardiovascular and IR procedures. Coordinates written policies and procedures that set up standards for coding and billing, giving specific guidance to management, professional staff, and individual departments as appropriate.

Maintains awareness of laws and regulations to include current changes that may affect Cardiology and IR coding and billing.

Reviews reported issues, concerns or questions relative to billing and coding matters.

Maintains and updates the price file for new and current services for all campuses.

Provides updates to the Cardiology and IR charge master with CPT codes, revenue codes, pricing and descriptions.

Monitors local medical review policies and ensures departmental compliance.

Audits documents to ensure accurate coding and billing all Cardiovascular and IR procedures.

Actively participates, facilitates and documents department approved key process improvement indicators.

Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Completion of a program in Coding Operations in accordance with requirements of the ICD-9-CM and CPT coding conventions

PREFERRED:High School diploma

CERTIFICATION PREFERRED:Certified Professional Coder
