International Paper has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Mechanic with electrical skills and proficiency in industrial maintenance preventive work. Must be highly skilled or licensed electrician with successful experience in PLC & Relay Logic troubleshooting and programming. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:Following all safety rules and practicesPerforming preventive maintenance activities such as lubricating, measuring wear, measuring positions, repositioning components; and observing operations, vibrations, and noise levelsPerforming emergency / break down maintenance as necessary to support plant operationsAccurately using measurement and test equipmentPerforming electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam system, and other repairs and installations as neededInstalling wire and conduit for newly installed and existing equipment such as conveyors, programmable controllers, and machinery Replacing faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices such as proximity switch timers, scanners and photo electric devices Diagnosing and repair/replace faulty electronic components such as printed circuit boards Troubleshooting and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems Troubleshooting drives, i.e. AC and DC Reading electrical block diagrams, schematics as well as PLC ladder logic Able to troubleshoot and program PLCDesign and create electrical line drawings and schematicsMaintaining clean and organized work areas, and cleaning up work areas as part of completing assigned tasksAccurately and completely preparing and maintaining maintenance records and other paperworkTrouble-shooting and solving problemsMaintaining teamwork with other associatesPerforming other duties as assigned by supervisionRequired competencies/skills include:PLC troubleshooting and programmingDrive systemsElectrical aptitude Troubleshooting expertise Mechanical knowledgeCandidates must be willing to work alternative shifts, weekends and overtime as required. Minimum qualifications for consideration are a high school degree (or equivalent experience) and five years of maintenance experience with at least one year with the same employer. Highly-qualified candidates would possess a technical degree or apprenticeship certification and maintenance experience in a similar manufacturing environment.The hiring process for successful candidates will include a pre-employment aptitude test and team interview.
