Staff Accountant

DescriptionAccountemps is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant with an eye for accuracy to fill a long-term temporary position at a growing company. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will support the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. Based in the Simi Valley, California region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.Key responsibilities

Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner

Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules

Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed

Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments

Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision

Requirements

Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

Recent and relevant accounting experience

Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

Command of Process Bi-weekly Payroll

Daily Cash Receipts experience

Comprehensive knowledge of SAP

Deep understanding of journal entries

Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

Efficient in ERP systems

Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills

Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
