We are looking for a reliable, hard working individual to help us build high quality turnkey backyard offices for remote workers. All offices are built on-site in under four weeks using traditional residential construction methods.

This position will primarily be responsible for coordinating subcontractors, assuring materials are delivered, and updating the homeowner on the progress of their build. This is primarily a project management position, but you will need to be willing to occasionally get your hands dirty transporting material, assisting tradesmen, and cleaning up job sites. Extensive experience in residential construction is not required.

Backyard Office LLC does not maintain a traditional office, so this position will be based out of your home. However, expect to spend at least 60% of your time at job sites throughout the Austin area.

Responsibilities:

- Attend project kickoff meeting at the homeowner's house with Regional Manager to discuss office options, building location, and schedule

- Keep homeowner apprised of when to expect subcontractors at their house, and update them on any schedule changes

- Perform final walk-through with customer to ensure all work is completed satisfactorily

- Supervise construction of concrete forms to assure correct building placement

- Coordinate with material suppliers to ensure material is delivered before framing begins

- Approve work of subcontractors to release payment

- Make urgent material runs when material is damaged or delivered incorrectly

- Coordinate with laborers to stage material and keep job sites clean

- Assist with construction, cleanup, and material staging as required

Skills:

- Outstanding reliability while completing several tasks over multiple projects

- Independently motivated to solve problems as they arise

- Good communication skills to support extensive text messaging and emails to coworkers, subcontractors and customers

- Ability to use a computer (email, read spreadsheets, etc.)

- Ability to carry construction materials as large as a sheet of plywood

- Some experience with residential construction is beneficial but not required

- Skills in a construction trade such as carpentry, flooring, roofing, or painting are beneficial but not required

Please include a short note about why you think you'd be good for this job!
