Position DescriptionThe Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Coordinator collaborates extensively with physicians, nursing staff, medical record coders, CDI specialists and other patient caregivers to improve quality and patient safety outcomes across the Health System. Has an extensive knowledge related to hospital, outpatient and provider medical records, coding compliance and quality regulatory compliance. Has exceptional change management skills and possesses strong decision making, problem solving and analytical skills that contributes to team effectiveness.Position RequirementsBachelor's Degree: Nursing and 3 years or more of experience in relevant clinical nursing areas (Medical, Surgical, ICU). Skills required: Strong communication skills. Strong understanding of the pathophysiology process for each disease process. Certification required: ICD-10. Licenses required: Current Registered Nursing License (Georgia) or qualifying multi-state compact license.Preferred RequirementsMaster's Degree: Nursing. PSSC certification.
