Animal Care and Breeding Technician, San Diego, CAThis is a great temp-to-hire opportunity to work with a leading CRO in supporting preclinical research. If you have previous experience with cage washing, breeding and weaning, dosing, surgery, and humane euthanasia with animals, consider applying today!Animal Care and Husbandry Responsibilities

Ensure that high standards of animal welfare are met.

Provide food, water and clean housing to animals according to applicable SOPs.

Perform routine animal health observations.

Monitor temperature and humidity, reporting any issues to supervisor or manager.

Maintain accurate records.

Maintain vivarium cleanliness in accordance with applicable SOPs.

Order and maintain accurate supply inventory.

Maintain and organize supply areas.

Other Responsibilities

Maintain rodent breeding colonies

Reserve, select, and accurately pack animals for customer orders following established shipping procedures.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Associate degree A.A. or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school

BS preferred.

Dexterity of physical condition to operate all job duties; lift and move objects regularly throughout the shift.

Work in a standing position requiring bending and stretching of arms and legs throughout regular work shift.

Ability to lift 50 pounds.
