Approximate Start Date:
We MAY be opening to provide emergency childcare to the Philomath community. The start date depends on community need and the public school schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Applicants must pass a pre-employment criminal background check, and/or already be enrolled in the
Childcare Criminal History Registry, have or obtain upon employment current First Aid, CPR, Food
Handler certification, and obtain a Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect training certificate
as well as an Introduction to Child Care and Safety training certificate within 30 days of employment.
At least one year of verifiable specialized training in a college or university with a major in child
development, elementary education/teaching, special or physical education or teaching, recreation, sports,
early childhood education or a related field, OR at least one year full time experience working with school age
children in an organized and on-going group setting (i.e. classroom, kindergarten, school age state certified
child care, recreation program or comparable setting.) 30 quarter hours (credits) of college level coursework
may qualify
Must be available to work the posted hours each week.

REPORTS TO: The Philomath Youth Activities Club Child Care Director
WAGES/HOURS: $12.50 – $14.00 per hour DOE. These positions would potentially be from approximately 7:30 a.m. until approximately 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION : PYAC offers a state certified childcare program for kids aged 5-12. Teachers plan and implement games, projects, sports, arts & crafts and any other activities that are of interest to the children. This is a great job for college students studying elementary or early childhood education, teaching, coaching, social science, psychology, sociology, public health etc. Must be flexible and enjoy working with elementary age kids.
LEAD TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Childcare Director in any fashion necessary to provide a high quality enriched elementary aged childcare program.
Assist in planning, teaching and implementing games, projects, arts & crafts and any other activities that are of interest to the children.
Establish & maintain positive relationships with coworkers, school staff, parents and children.
Provide for supervision and safety of children in all activities.
Promptly report incidents, accidents or concerns involving participants to supervisor and/or appropriate authority.
Cleaning and sanitizing will be required for this position.
Attend all staff meetings and trainings.
Be aware of and maintain all necessary certifications and requirements by the state.
This position will require adhering to the Early Learning Division's Health and Safety Guidelines for Child Care and Early Education.
Masks will be required at this program.
Job Type: Part-time approximately 30 - 35 hours per week
Pay: $12.50 - $14.00 per hour

We will POTENTIALLY be opening as an Emergency Childcare Program, and will be required to follow the Health and Sfety Guidelines provided for Child Care by the Early Learning Division and Department of Education. Masks will be required for staff and kids.
