Full Charge Bookkeeper Needed (music industry) (Dripping Springs)

Seeking dependable Full Charge Bookkeeper to work with creative team in the music industry.

My wife and I own and operate an independent record label and artist management company with e-commerce businesses and two rental properties in Austin. Our world is exciting and creative but we need a detail-oriented, type-A bookkeeper to help organize our businesses and keep the finances in order! :)


 ABOUT THE JOB 




In the beginning, you will be responsible for getting our books up to date starting Jan 1, 2020. You will work with us and our CPA to create a fresh chart of accounts. You will maintain our financial records by accurately recording the day to day transactions of each company. You will manage all aspects of general ledger, budgeting, credit card and bank reconciliations, cash flow, and other traditional accounting duties.

Initially, this will be a subcontracted 1099 position @ $15 per hour. There is major growth potential to become our full time Office Manager, and eventually Comptroller or CFO. You must be available to work remote during the business hours of 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday. Your hours will vary from week to week but we anticipate starting with 10-25 hours per week. We are a family oriented business and try to unplug on the weekends. Due to the nature of the music business, this isn’t always possible. LOL! There will be times where phone/email/texting will be necessary on the weekends, especially when there are concerts, livestreams, album releases, etc… You will visit our HQ in Dripping Springs a few times per month. Our monthly finance meetings are held on the 25th of each month or next business day. At these meetings, you will present P&L, Income Statement, Balance Sheets, Budget for next month, and other business reports that you feel are necessary to the growth of the business. 



We currently use QBO to manage our 5 separate books. Once all accounts are up to date, we may migrate from QBO to Zoho Books. This would be exciting because we use Zoho CRM to manage our business.  IMMEDIATE DUTIES 


Reconciling bank/credit card accounts

Monthly Financial Report preparation and review
 Maintain Project Budget Tracking
 Accounting for sales tax 
 Work directly with business owners and CPA
 Record mortgage payments and interest expenses
 Prepare month end reconciliations to include bank, credit cards, and monthly insurance bills.

Other typical bookkeeping tasks



EVENTUAL DUTIES 


Organizing, filing and archiving (documents, contracts, photos, music tapes, CD’s, merchandise

Renewing and maintaining contracts/insurance policies/subscriptions

Maintaining personnel records

Ordering office supplies

Assisting in the preparation of marketing materials

Outstanding Customer Service with music fans from all over the world. 
 Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process

Verify that transactions are recorded to the correct job

Enter data and maintain records

Process accounts receivable/payable and maintain job costing.
 Bill collection and processing AR/AP
 Handling payroll


 PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS 


5 years bookkeeping experience

High degree of accuracy
 Detail oriented
 Organized

Good oral and written communication skills
 Computer and printer
 Reliable transportation

Positive, energizing personality, great attitude, etc

Ability to work independently 
 Ability to take direction well

Excellent organizational skills
 Ability to prioritize and complete assigned tasks on time

 Extensive knowledge of Quickbooks Online


 Extensive knowledge of Quickbooks Desktop


G-Suite (Docs, Sheets, etc…)


 MS-Suite (Word, Excel, etc…)

 PayPal payments (not required, but willing to learn)


Stripe payments (not required, but willing to learn)
