WEB DEVELOPER (Lakeside)

Turning Point for God is the radio and television ministry of Dr. David Jeremiah, senior pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church. It is an international ministry with a vision to reach every language group in the world with the Gospel and the teachings of God’s Word. From a modest beginning over thirty five years ago, Turning Point is now accessible by 2.5 billion people worldwide every day through radio, television, and the Internet.

Position Summary:

The Web Developer reports directly to the Senior Web Developer. This employee works as an integral part of the Web Team. Responsible for designing, coding, and modifying websites, from layout to function and according to determined specifications. Strives to create visually appealing sites that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation. Specifications may be determined by Web Team or Creative Leadership based on goals of a particular project.

Essential Functions:

Develop/maintain website applications and pages per specifications and schedule.

Integrate ministry websites with other business processes per specifications and schedule.

Technical management of the ministry’s content management system including application and template development, permissions management, topic list management, etc.

Develop and perform complete unit-testing of website applications with Web Team.

Keep source code well-maintained at all times per department standards.

Work with our media team and media-hosting provider(s) to incorporate various media assets onto websites.

Regular exposure to project stakeholders, as well as the authority and scope to apply your expertise to many interesting technical problems.

Understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.

Actively participate in Internet-related strategic and tactical planning.

Qualifications:

1 to 5 years of web application development experience

MUST have demonstrated proficiency in the following technologies:

o Object-oriented programming languages (PHP/non-Wordpress or C# preferred)

o JavaScript (Node.js, React, jQuery experience preferred)

o XHTML/HTML/CSS with ability to author HTML without reliance upon a code-generating tool such as Dreamweaver/FrontPage

o Design, and deployment of relational databases (MS SQL Server preferred)

o SQL programming language (Microsoft T/SQL expertise preferred)

o Web-servers and hosting of websites using Microsoft IIS or Apache

Demonstrated ability to work well within a small development team structure.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems

Position is non-exempt, full time in Turning Point’s international headquarters in Lakeside, CA.
