In this position, you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment and will be a part of our overall mission at LabCorp: "Improving Health, Improving Lives" as we combat the COVID-19 pandemic and continue to lead the way in HIV/HCV phenotypic testing.Monogram is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technician to join its team in the in the Front End / Preanalytical groups. In this position, you will perform both semi-automated and manual testing with the overall goal of providing results that will be used in the treatment of HIV, HCV, COVID-19, and other viral infections. Assays performed in this department use cellular virology techniques to determine susceptibility to antiretroviral drugs and COVID-19 drug development and treatment guidance.This is a great entry-level opportunity to join an innovative laboratory and receive targeted one-on-one training that will help the individual grow in a career in the biotechnology field!The schedule for this position will Monday Friday, 3pm-1130pm with rotating weekends.Responsibilities:

Perform routine laboratory duties within the Front End / PreAnalytical areas including:

Specimen receiving and data entry in LIS

Operation of instrumentation

Recording of equipment daily readings, function checks and preventative maintenance

Completion of QA Documents

Responsible for sample preparation steps including Aliquoting, Beading, Lysing as well as Molecular Extraction techniques

Perform inventory control

Practice aseptic / sterile techniques

May participate in creating Standard Operating Procedures

Comply with all safety/infection control policies and procedures

Communicate with outside departments including Molecular Lab, Research and Development, Client Services and Pharma Project Managers

The coronavirus is a Biosafety Level 2 disease (BSL2), similar to other blood borne pathogens tested at Monogram, allowing us to utilize our existing universal safety policies and procedures that protects our employees. All employees are provided with the proper PPE including face shields and masks, lab coats, and gloves. We strictly enforce the use of PPE at all times. BS/BA degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory sciences

0-2 years relevant laboratory experience required

Laboratory experience performing assays utilizing instrumentation a plus

Understanding and familiarity with aseptic technique and good specimen handling

Strong computer skills: familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is beneficial

Experience with SOPs, QA and QC standards

Must have good organizational skills and strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to work in collaborative, flexible work environment

Ability to work flexible hours, during training
