job summary:Randstad Technologies is seeking a Network and Server Administrator for an opportunity in Downtown Kansas City. This position is responsible primarily for providing high-level infrastructure support for hardware and software across the company, both on-premises and cloud-based. The role also acts as a fourth tier of contact for end-users and escalation for Help Desk. This role also will lead firmwide technology projects. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years network, server, systems, and infrastructure experience, as well as technology and enterprise architecture. location: KANSAS CITY, Missourijob type: Permanentsalary: $85,000 - 100,000 per yearwork hours: 8am to 4pmeducation: Bachelors responsibilities:
- Provides architecture, engineering, design, maintenance, and troubleshooting for firm technology, including servers, networking, telephony, telecom, internet services, desktop imaging, cybersecurity, and more.
- Create technology solution supporting documentation and architectural drawings.
- Work on assigned projects and assist other business groups on assigned projects when needed.
- Act as the fourth contact for end-users for all IT supported systems and escalation for Help Desk.
- Assists in technology roadmap and strategy discussions as a subject matter expert for the IT Operations Manager, IT Service Manager, IT Security Manager, and IT Director. Use support tools such as RDP, AD, SCCM, Meraki, and Cisco as needed in problem resolution.
- Provide voice, data, and wireless network support.
- Perform onsite network routine maintenance tasks, including equipment software upgrades.
- Provide onsite MAC (Moves, adds, changes) support for voice and data networks, including phone deployments cable patches, cable tracing, in any of the data closets and / or datacenters.
- Coordinate any circuit issues with the telco providers.
- Manage and enhance current virtual server environment. Install, configure, patch, and maintain VMware infrastructure. Monitor and analyze performance levels and make recommendations for capacity planning.
- Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft operating systems to current recommended levels, which includes working with Security and applying security recommended patches and hardware driver updates.
- Implementing and maintaining security to take precautions against unauthorized access, and documenting Network Servers and Network Storage devices, including hardware and software.
- Analyze future needs, making and implementing technical recommendations for system performance to ensure systems are performing correctly and meet internal and external customer needs pertaining to utilization, including predicting growth and upgrade needs based on capacity planning information on available data, reviewing data file structures for efficiency and reporting any problems to all of IT.
- Able to research and work with vendors to resolve issues
- Create new user accounts and setup new user computers
- Install, configure, and repair computer hardware and software
- Deputy responsibilities in the event of a cybersecurity incident
- Repairing equipment and replacing parts
- Managing inventory of equipment
- Replace retired hardware and track in ticketing system
- Periodic travel, including rental vehicle or airline travel and overnight stays, may be required up to 30% of time
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology or IS Management, or similar preferred
- 10+ years of hands-on experience working in data centers, server administration, telecom administration, or network administration
- CCNP, MCSE, MCASAE, VCAP, or similar higher-tier technology certifications preferred
- CompTIA Sec+ or similar cybersecurity certifications preferred
- Remote Desktop support when required
- Strong Computer Skills and the Ability to Troubleshoot and Diagnose Problems
- Proficient in software support including OS, Office 2016 or higher, and applications
- Ability to communicate technical information, both verbal and written, to a wide range of end-users and Helpdesk technicians
- Knowledge of administration in Active Directory and Exchange
- Strong customer service skills and an ability to work well as a team player
- Attention to detail and follow-through to ensure issues have been resolved
- Maintain strict confidentiality and integrity standards when handling all applicant, client, and firm proprietary information
- Regularly participate as a tier-2 on-call "second responder."
