We are looking for a Trauma Registrar (NUHW) with Trauma Services Department at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.Location : Santa Rosa, CaliforniaSchedule : Full time - 80 Biweekly hoursShift : 8 Hour - DaysJob Summary :Responsible for maintaining the computerized trauma registry for Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital in a manner consistent with the values of the St.Joseph's Health System. The trauma registrar reviews patient records in a responsible and ethical manner in order to accurately abstract and enter data into the trauma registry. The registrar also provides statistical reports from the trauma registry as requested.Skills :

Computer skills, including a basic understanding of Windows, Word, and Excel.

Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.

Research and abstracting skills with attention to detail.

Ability to work autonomously and as a team member.

Familiarity with medical coding concepts preferred.

Minimum Position Qualifications :

High school diploma or equivalent.

Successful completion of course work at an accredited college or university in anatomy and

medical terminology.

Minimum of two years work experience in an acute care hospital.

Minimum of two years related professional experience including extensive use of data entry

and word processing systems including Word and Excel.

Minimum two years work experience involving data analysis and presentation, or

comparable education.

Certification as a Certified Trauma Registrar is required within two years of hire into the

position.

Preferred Position Qualifications:

Associates Degree in related discipline.

Successful completion of course work at an accredited college or university in physiology.

Experience performing duties as a Trauma Registrar in an acute care hospital.

Knowledge of and experience in quality improvement initiatives including data extraction,

reporting and data analysis.

Experience using Trauma One software or similar registry database.

Additional working knowledge and/or experience with trauma site survey preparation,

trauma center structure, and the trauma performance improvement process.
