We are looking for a Pre-Hospital and Trauma Coordinator with the Trauma Services Department at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.Location: Santa Rosa, CaliforniaSchedule : Full time - 80 Biweekly hoursShift: 8 Hour - DaysJob Summary :The Pre-hospital and Trauma Coordinator will be responsible for program design and improvements in the areas of Injury Prevention, Disaster Preparedness, and EMS performance as related to the community, region, hospital, and trauma program. Using trauma registry and epidemiologic data, pre-hospital EMS operations data, and facility and interfacility trends, will develop and implement clinical based intervention strategies and monitor/analyze outcomes. Will be responsible for establishing and maintaining hospital based and community contacts and provide educational activities including developing patient and pre-hospital materials, with emphasis on coordinating and leading identified programs and initiatives. This position functions within the spirit of teamwork, is accountable to provide optimal customer service to internal and external customers, and functions within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines in conjunction with the mission and values of St. Joseph Health System.Skills:

Must have clinical nursing experience in the care of the critically injured patient.

Must have knowledge of program implementation and a good working knowledge of the local community, state, and national injury prevention programs, pre-hospital care program philosophy, state and local EMS policies, regulations, protocols and procedures, base hospital operations, and local EMS system.

FCC regulations and County communications policies and procedures.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer knowledge, be self motivated and directed.

Must be able to use Excel, Powerpoint and graphic software at an advanced level.

Must possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex information.

Must have a strong sense of accountability and the ability to meet deadlines.

Must possess ability to be an independent/flexible problem solver with ability to cope positively with changes in the work environment.

Must be able to participate and support team activities.

Requires a professional attitude conducive to working in a team approach environment under changing pressures and situations

Bilingual preferred.

Minimum Position Qualifications:Education :

Associate Nursing Degree

Experience:

Minimum three years of work related experience or two years of ED/MICU experience

Training:

Injury Prevention and/or Program Development and Implementation

License/Certification:

Current Registered Nurse License in the state of California

Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers

Driver’s License and reliable mode of transportation.

Preferred Position Qualifications:

Experience in pre-hospital care training, management, and/or in EMS administration

Bilingual preferred.

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in nursing or related field
