Director for Acute Care Pediatrics / Acute Adolescents. (Full-time, Day shift) -Our mission is to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ. Our core values are compassion, integrity, excellence, teamwork and wholeness.The Director-Patient Care accepts organizational accountability for services provided, directs and manages personnel for assigned areas, implements the vision, mission, philosophy, core values, evidenced based practice, and standards in assigned areas, leads and directs patient care delivery systems. Develops, implements, and maintains recruitment, retention, and succession planning programs that promote a personally fulfilling workplace environment, culture for quality patient care, and positive patient experience. Demonstrates business acumen and provides proactive administrative, human resource, financial, and multidisciplinary clinical management twenty four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, for multiple cost centers and/or patient care areas and related programs to meet the demands of cutting-edge interdisciplinary health care delivery. Ensures areas of responsibility are survey-ready at all times and in compliance with requirements of applicable planning, regulatory, inspecting agencies, and Loma Linda University Children's Hospital (LLUCH) policies. Develops, implements, and maintains a unit and department-specific performance improvement and patient safety and reliability program utilizing tools such as the Six Sigma framework of define, measure, analyze, implement, and control. Engages staff and collaboratively establishes department-specific dashboards to measure on-going performance. Ensures that areas are in compliance with organization-wide dashboards and benchmark criteria. Participates in strategic planning process and aligns departmental goals and objectives with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Mentors and coaches staff in transforming culture, processes, and clinical practice that follows the patient centered care model. Developing, maintaining, and evaluating information processes that promote client outcomes. Performs other duties as needed.Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required. Master of Science Degree preferably in the field of nursing, but healthcare, administration, education, or business acceptable (Degrees in progress acceptable with quarterly reports). Minimum three years of nursing experience which has provided opportunity to demonstrate competencies in, clinical nursing, leadership, administration, education, and/or staff development required.Knowledge of healthcare law and finance required. Able to read; write and speak with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Access; operate and/or troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors on computer screens; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place; read documents necessary to position.Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required.Additional Information
