Digital Payments Software Engineers are part of an agile team, partnering with groups worldwide, to solve challenging and interesting technical problems.This position is part of Digital group under Consumer and Small Business Banking Technology that manages Wells Fargo Retail Online Banking serving 40+ million customers 24/7/365 days. Our Mission is to support our company’s Vision & Values by delivering; maintaining and supporting high quality software solutions that provide our customers with outstanding digital experiences helping them manage their financial needs.In this position, Software Sr. Engineer must be specialized in building highly scalable, distributed, event-driven, fault-tolerant, API-based enterprise applications in a scaled agile ecosystem. Software Sr. Engineer must have Core Payment Domain experience and built Payment APIs with idempotency to ensure payments get executed only once. Engineer must have implemented payment products like Zelle that involve integration with Early Warning System(EWS) APIs. Candidate must have knowledge of NACHA/ACH for payments and experience with money movement across financial institutions. Candidate will apply Wells Fargo Digital Banking coding practices to test-drive the creation of micro-services with Java, J2EE, JUnit, Spring, RESTful services. The engineer participates in the growth of a framework that has to deliver 20+ million daily user sessions to very large set of devices used by our diverse customer base, from the oldest web browser to the newest smart watch. Knowledge and usage of A/B testing as part of rolling out features.The candidates responsibilities will be: Working closely with application teams, infrastructure and middleware teams to maintain applications that are secure and highly scalable/available. Plan, execute and maintain road maps in alignment with Enterprise Security standards and in accordance to established business SLAs. Plans, performs, and acts as the escalation point for the most complex platform designs, coding, and testing. Acts as expert technical resource to programming staff in the program development, testing, and implementation process.The Software Sr. Engineers influences the strategy across multiple channels. Key interactions in the role are working with technology partners in supporting and on-boarding new applications along with Business users to define the long term goal. Working closely with product managers to understand requirements and work through the “what’s and the how’s” to implement features for customers of the digital channel. Other responsibilities include working with architecture and development teams to evaluate technical designs and associated trade-offs.As a Team lead in a senior role, you are expected to achieve success by leading yourself, your team, and the business. Specifically you will: Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.The engineer will contribute new ideas to improve processes, practices and culture. Digital Payment engineers are given the opportunity to innovate and experiment with new technology, encouraged to participate in contests & hackathons along with presenting the ideas to other organizations.This position can be based at the Wells Fargo site location in Fremont, San Leandro or Concord CA.This position is NOT ELIGIBLE for relocation assistance. 7+ years of software engineering experience

A BS/BA degree or higher

2+ years of MQ Series Messaging experience

2+ years of MongoDB experience

7 + years of Java Web Services experience

1+ years of experience in Hadoop ecosystem tools for real-time batch data ingestion, processing and provisioning such as Apache Flume, Apache Kafka, Apache Sqoop, Apache Flink, Apache Spark or Apache Storm

2+ years of experience managing off property Application Programming Interface (API) orchestration and integration

2+ years of experience in building integrations with Google Analytics and Tealium Tag Management platforms

2+ years of experience in building integrations with Oracle Maxymiser Web Optimization platform

3+ years of experience with Application performance, monitoring and optimization using Blazemeter, JMeter, Splunk and AppDynamics

7+ years of JavaEE experience

7+ years of Java experience

Desired Qualifications:

An industry-standard technology certification

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to design, develop, and implement large scale/complex software applications

Knowledge and understanding of design and development of modern web applications and mobile technologies

Knowledge and understanding of test driven application development
