Sr. Custodian, Per Diem (Santa Monica)

ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of a Custodial supervisor - Clean assigned areas, patientrooms, nursing station, ancillary rooms, exam rooms, procedure rooms,conference rooms, office's, hallways, corridor, public areas, etc. Operatevacuum cleaners, buffers, wall and window washing, shampoo machines and floormachine. Sweep, strip and wax floors. Perform isolation room cleaning. Performhigh and low dusting. Clean vertical and horizontal surfaces using the approvedcleaning solutions. They have knowledge in the correct use and storage ofdisinfectants, cleaning solution, soap, detergents and floor waxes preferred.QualificationsDemonstrated interpersonal skills to establish and maintaincooperative working relationship with other peers and staff. Reading skill tounderstand procedures, memos, labels, direction, forms and signs. Writingskills to maintain accurate legible records and logs. Physical ability tostand, bend, stoop, reach and climb ladders for a long period of times.Physical ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Physical ability topush and pull mops, broom, cart, vacuum cleaners and other power equipment.Ability to complete assignments despite frequent interruptions. Prior hospitalor hotel experience preferred.Preferred: 2 - 3 years of housekeeping experience in ahealth care setting and/or LA Unified School District Janitorial Servicecertification preferred.GED or High School DegreeUCLA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
