YARD JOCKEY (Kegel's Produce)

YARD JOCKEY POSITION SUMMARY:

Ideal candidate is responsible for daily checks on vehicles for damage, fuel, cleanliness and GPS functionality. Will be responsible for moving vehicles throughout the premises and into docks, monitoring fleet daily and informing router of truck issues.

Hours for the Yard Jockey position are Sunday-Thursday 9pm-6am.

YARD JOCKEY ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inspects vehicle before docking for fuel level, DEF levels, GPS, cleanliness of cab and box and proper paperwork (registration, insurance, etc.)

Back trucks into proper door and chock wheels for loading.

Fleet check daily to ensure all trucks are here and in service

Dispatch drivers

Place drivers shorts, pallet jack and hand truck on the driver’s truck for immediate departure on the delivery route

Confirm drivers are completing daily pre-trip inspections

Perform other related duties, as required or assigned by the Transportation Manager & Transportation Supervisor.

YARD JOCKEY SKILLS & EDUCATION

The skills, knowledge and abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to the following:

Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s license.

Able to pass physical for State Medical Certificate.

Able to drive both automatic and standard shift transmissions.

Six months to one year experience.
