Mechanic (Culpeper)

Immediate openings for experienced mechanics for our privately-owned equipment fleet in Culpeper, Virginia.

Hydraulic and aerial lift experience a plus but not required

Multiple positions available

40 hours per week with availability of overtime

Company will provide uniforms/PPE (personal protective equipment)

Mechanic Duties:

Must be able to diagnose and able to create repair solutions for all types of gas and diesel equipment, including, but not limited to, underbridge access equipment, dump trucks, bucket trucks, service trucks, pickups, vans and other heavy equipment.

Working with all vehicle components include engine, driveline, electrical, brakes, suspension, steering, exhaust, cab, chassis, and hydraulics

Perform brake jobs, chassis work, and air system repairs and conduct minor and major inspections

Perform routine vehicle maintenance on vehicles and equipment and document on repair orders all work performed and parts used to repair any company or outside vehicle as well as service and maintenance records.

Check daily driver vehicle inspection defects and repair as necessary to conform to all D.O.T. rules and regulations.

Handle equipment related road calls; to extent possible assist operator in diagnosing problem and provide recommendations for repairs or referrals to repair facility as appropriate. May be required to drive replacement vehicle to operator

Participate in safety and equipment training as needed

Minimum Requirements for Applicants:

Must be 21 years of age or older

Must have a valid driver’s license + able to provide a driving transcript from DMV

Must have reliable transportation

CDL A or B preferred but not required

Must be able to obtain DOT medical card

Must have own set of hand tools

Must be willing to work in all weather conditions

Some travel may be required (all travel expenses will be paid for by company)
