Grey Matter Marketing (GMM) is looking for a San Francisco or Santa Barbara-based entry-level Marketing Coordinator to assist with a variety of traditional and digital marketing initiatives to help support our company and client business goals. Tasks can include a mix of social media support (i.e. development and execution of campaigns, content creation, and performance analysis), copywriting (i.e. blogs, emails, advertisements), and project management for both internal and external projects.

The ideal candidate will enjoy writing and be well-versed on the latest digital and content marketing initiatives. A background in paid and organic social media is a plus. Candidate must be able to professionally juggle a multitude of projects and enjoy a dynamic work environment. A detail-oriented, can-do attitude is essential. This position includes the opportunity for growth in a specific area of interest, as well as the opportunity to strongly influence corporate strategy as an integral member of a small yet impactful marketing team. This is a part-time, remote position with the ability to shape your schedule keeping in mind deadlines are imperative to meet. This position would be ideal for a college student with the bandwidth, a recent college graduate looking to gain experience, or for someone looking to supplement their current workload with extra hours with an unconventional job structure that allows for more flexibility. At this time, the position would be approximately 10 to 15 hours per week with an opportunity to expand, should this be a shared goal.

Responsibilities

Collaborating with internal teams, clients and partners on marketing tactics and strategy

Assistance with social media (research, creation, posting, engagement, analytics)

Assistance with blog writing and email campaigns

Assistance with website maintenance and updates

Assistance with administrative, marketing and business development projects

Qualifications

Working towards or completion of Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, advertising, communications or science/medicine, at an accredited university/college

1- 2 years of marketing, communications, or advertising experience

Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to speak in a brand’s voice and provide excellent customer service

Highly knowledgeable and passionate about all social media networks and actively involved on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office; Adobe (Photoshop or Illustrator) experience a plus

Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a deadline-driven environment, set priorities and manage multiple tasks with input from multiple team members

Highly organized with a sense of urgency and can-do attitude

Exceptional project management skills and attention to detail. Flexibility and organization are essential for helping with management of various marketing objectives simultaneously

Critical thinker with the ability to look beyond the set task to find new ways to achieve our objectives

Eye for great design

Interest and willingness to learn about the evolving healthcare industry

Must love numbers and analytics

You must live in the greater San Francisco Bay area or Santa Barbara-area to be considered

Position Type

This is a contract with the goal of conversion to a full-time position based upon performance

This is a remote position with some travel to agency meetings and clients
