LabCorp is a leader in laboratory medicine and we strive to meet the rapidly evolving healthcare needs.Responsibilities:Performs all routine and special Cytogenetics procedures, microscopic analysis and maintains quality control. With minimum supervision, Cytogenetic technologist participates in trouble shooting and updating accessioning as well as current methods.

Perform FISH hybridization and washes

Review test requisition to gather pertinent details for analysis

Perform microscope analysis of FISH slides

Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results

Ensures proper reagent preparation and reagent labeling

Perform and evaluate trouble shooting, document all corrective actions as needed

Quality Control, document daily performance criteria of reagents and equipment

Assist in the validation of new test methods/instrumentation/reagents

Provide assistance to non-technical staff and trainees as needed

Performs laboratory tests and analyses according to established procedures in designated technical department

Comply with LabCorp policies and procedures

Requirements

BA/BS in Biology or relatable life science to include completion of 16 credit hours of Biology, 16 credit hours of Chemistry, and 3 credit hours of math

Cytogenetic experience 1 year of clinical OR clinical lab experience

ASCP Certification Preferred

Must complete and pass color blind test

Detail oriented and organized

Team player with a positive attitude

Computer skills

Willingness to work overtime as needed
