YCP-A-Lead Location: YCP Job Type: Temp/Contract Reference Code: New Hours: Full Time Job Description : Job Expectations: In this position, the Shift Lead is representing United Personnel and themselves. It is expected that they will always conduct themselves with the utmost professional behavior This includes on the work-site, in emails, in face to face conversations with any Yankee Candle Managers or Yankee Candle employees, UP field staff placed at Yankee Candle and internal UP staff. Daily training of temporary staff to ensure success in production and in the Standards process and communication to Shift Coordinators of top talent who could be cultivated to the logistics, wax prep or machine operator roles. Responsible for the integrity of the training process. Must demonstrates the ability to express to employees to remain productive throughout the shift, encouraging staff to be successful and to display initiative. Must demonstrate the ability to confidently present instructions in 3 ways to employees: Written - offers checklists/SOPS/instructions Orally - ability to verbally explain instructions/direction and concepts Hands - on - ability to physically present instructions Must demonstrate a calm demeanor when dealing with difficult trainees. Support production needs starting with highest priority department/line and understand that business needs change rapidly and movement between lines is part of the job description for themselves as well as Candlemaker personnel. Occasional need to manage shift change/start up and check punch accuracy in KRONOS so that the accuracy of our clients EVAC list can be determined. Weekly meetings with Shift Coordinator and United Personnel Manager to review any shift concerns, trends, spot rewards. Shift Leads will be expected to start up the shift in the Shift Coordinators absence. Shift lead will come in 15 minutes early and go through start up of shift with Shift Coordinator.
