DescriptionAccountemps has a long-term temporary opportunity available for an experienced, organized Staff Accountant at a reputable Real Estate Property/Facilities Mgt company. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will promote the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Be a part of various department-wide initiatives
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process
Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Strong attention to detail
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Experience with ERP systems
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Comprehensive knowledge of Yardi
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
