JR INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER

POSITION TITLE:Jr. Industrial EngineerLOCATION: Plainwell, MICOMPANY: JBSTITLE OF SUPERVISOR: Industrial Engineering ManagerSUMMARY:The primary responsibility of this role is to develop, implement and improve cost effective manufacturing processes to obtain maximum efficiencies and throughput.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops, installs and maintains cost-effective methods of manufacturing and fair and equitable labor standards using predetermined time standard software

Selects appropriate work measurement techniques

Measures variances to standards, identifies out of control variances, investigates reasons, and suggests solutions, installs, and follows up

Keeps tally of the method changes reducing cost of production and strives for budgeted goal

Complete daily labor efficiency report

Keeps abreast to the trend of technology, investigates & installs most effective methods of manufacturing to keep company at competitive advantage at all times

Upholds working relationship with local union

· Drive the use of processes throughout the business. Be a lead in process map training and drive the culture of continuous process improvement.· Assist in financial planning and cost analysis. (labor reporting and cost to produce analysis)

Participates in initiation of new production lines to assist in design for cost-effective manufacturing

Prepares detailed layouts of plant facilities to optimize utilization and product flow

Attend meetings as needed or called

· Must be willing to travel to production facilities as needed, approximately 25%.

Perform various other duties as needed or as assigned

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

Frequent communication with all plant departments

Organized and detail oriented

Manage priorities and dynamic deadlines

Efficient time management and ability to work under pressure

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills· Must demonstrate strong analytical and math skills· Intermediate ability in Microsoft Office products, specifically Microsoft Excel

Interpersonal and team skills for working with employees at all levels

· First shift, flexible as required, Weekend hours as needed· Trustworthy – will be handling confidential material· Self-starter, team player· Must be willing to relocateEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business or related field

Knowledge of food industry beneficial
