Depending on ExperienceDay to Day Responsibilities: Performs routine and complex laboratory analyses involving sample receiving, processing, and result reporting Ensures instruments and equipment in the clinical lab are functioning properly and maintained by performing or arranging scheduled maintenance in a timely manner Participates in proficiency testing Utilizes good documentation practices (GDPs) and follows laboratory quality control and quality assurance policies Supervises laboratory assistants Complies with Life Technologies Clinical Services Lab safety policies and procedures Other duties as assignedRequired Experience and Skills: A BS/BA degree in Medical Technology or Biological Sciences from an accredited college or university A current California state Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license to perform laboratory testing A current American Society Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Medical Technologist license is preferred Use of computer systems for data entry, retrieval, and analyses involving word processing programs, spreadsheets containing data analyses, and complex computer driven instrumentation Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to problem solve highly complex analyses Strong understanding of good laboratory practices and regulatory complianceWorking Conditions May handle highly infectious agents and hazardous chemicals (small quantities of ethanol and xylene) Sit or stand for long periods of time while using equipment and specimen handling and/or for computer workAdditional Information No third party resumes will be accepted Drug testing and/or other employment-related inquiries may be conducted All interested individuals MUST be able to work on a W2 Tax basis (no C2C or third party vendors) CTG will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
