Gambling Manager - Excelsior Rotary

The Rotary Club of Lake Minnetonka – Excelsior ,(LMERC), partners with Maynard’s Restaurant in Excelsior, MN to host charitable gambling to benefit our local community. Three principles will guide our work: 1. We will leverage income from charitable gambling to build our brand and support community and local organizations. 2. We will operate at the highest level of ethical behavior and adherence to applicable law. 3. We will build and operate with focus on compliance and alignment to Maynard’s culture and customer service approach.

The Gambling Manager is responsible day-to-day activities of the organization’s gambling operation, adhering to our guiding principles, achieving agreed upon results and as required by the MN Gambling Control Board

Gambling Manager Duties

The LMERC Manager duties include but are not limited to:

Employees

Supervising, hiring, training, firing, and disciplining of all gambling employees in adherence to organization employment rules and in conjunction with the LMERC Gambling Committee

Supervising and training all gambling employees to ensure all procedures and activities are in alignment with club policies and state and federal regulations and law.

Scheduling and ensuring appropriate staffing to meet shift schedules and customer demand

Games

Reviewing and monitoring the conduct of games to the Benefit of the LMERC

Determining the product to be purchased and put into play. Any games that work below the LMERC profit requirements must be authorized by the LMERC Gambling Committee before being played

Determining the policy of when to put games into play and when to close games

Adhering to all required inventory, reporting, prize disbursement, and auditing of games

Accounting/Reporting

Ensuring all receipts and disbursements have been properly deposited and accounted for in compliance with statute and rule requirements

Ensuring that all inventory records have been reconciled each month

Engaging an outside accounting firm for all game auditing, payroll, and monthly tax return preparation in compliance with all state and federal regulations and law.

Supervising and coordinating all activities to ensure

Establishing and adhering to a yearly budget that is accepted by the LMERC Board of Directors

Reviewing monthly reports provided by accounting firm with the LMERC Gambling Committee prior to numbers being posted online for Board of Director approval

Supervision

Ensuring all licensing and reporting requirements are adhered to by all employees

Assuring that the organization is in full compliance with all statutes and rules related to Minnesota Lawful

Gambling

Assuring that illegal gambling is not conducted at permitted premises

Attending all LMERC Board Meetings to report on site performance

Gambling Manager Requirements

The LMERC Gambling Manager must meet the following criteria to qualify for the position:

Possess a valid gambling manager license issued by the Minnesota Gambling Control Board

Have a $10,000.00 bond

Have attended a Gambling Manager Seminar and passed the written test

Attend a continuing education class every calendar year

Pass a yearly background check as outlined in the LMERC Handbook

Gambling Manager Preferred Qualifications

Excellent organizational skills

Experience with Charitable Gambling operations, preferably in sales or management.

Experience developing and managing budgets, financial reporting, payroll, and sales trends

Strong ability to hire, direct and manage staff

Community connection

Flexible work schedule availability including days, nights and weekends
