Dunn Services Inc. is seeking an experienced heavy equipment operator to join our team. The heavy equipment operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of multiple pieces of construction equipment. The ideal candidate should be proficient in the use of a diverse range of construction equipment, including, Excavators, Loaders, Dozers, Rollers, Graders, Maintainers, Skid Steers and other pieces of equipment. Various work locations at a customer site located in and around TX. Candidates must be able to pass a drug test.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the heavy equipment operator include, but are not limited to:

Equipment Operation

Capable of operating multiple pieces of construction equipment used in road, and commercial construction, and base preparation and construction.

Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.

Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.

Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate and refill the equipment as necessary.

Maneuver heavy equipment into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that the vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.

Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.

Use various pieces of equipment to perform fine grading and finishing, sloping and banking, backfilling, demolition, ditching, loading, excavating and stockpiling.

Operate equipment on public roadways, maintaining proper awareness of ones surroundings.

Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the equipment.

Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of construction equipment.

Other construction related duties as required.

Safety

Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.

Work with the Company's safety rep to investigate damage, incidents or near misses in the work-site, and ensure proper procedures are carried out according to the Company's Safety Program.

Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the well-being of others.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Certifications

High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred

Work Experience

Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience within the road, oilfield services, or commercial construction industries preferred

2 to 3 years' experience operating a diverse range of construction equipment is required.

Technical Knowledge

Knowledge of heavy equipment operation.

Knowledge road construction materials, road construction processes and industry requirements.

Understanding of computerized controls and electronics, such as GPS-enabled grade controls, grade management systems, and earth moving systems is a plus.
