The Packaging Project Manager will play a critical role in enabling Wild Planet’s speed to-market strategy. By combining the ability to modify mechanical artwork files with an understanding of how to move projects through to print completion this person will utilize his/her experience to help bring new product packaging initiatives to completion. The Packaging Project Manager will report directly to the President of Wild Planet.

Key Responsibilities

Project manage the packaging development process for new products, line extensions and optimizations to current designs.

Collaborate with Wild Planet’s production, procurement & marketing teams, vendors and printers to collect and validate packaging project inputs to effectively execute projects.

Coordinate each portion of the approval process between internal and external partners, ensuring clear strategic and creative alignment.

Monitor and communicate project timelines, key milestones and progress to key stakeholders to ensure projects are executed on time.

Work directly with graphic design agency for the development of product packaging and labeling across multiple structures and substrates.

Create the necessary mechanical artwork to spec and ensure all packaging and labeling files are production ready prior to release.

Ensure quality of all labeling components by reviewing spelling, content and accuracy.

Work proactively to help solve challenges that occur throughout the project, including but not limited to file or printability issues.

Organize and maintain labeling documentation and artwork files.

Additional duties as assigned.

Time split will be approximately: 80% Project Management /20% Packaging File Work

Education and/or Experience

3+ years project management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

2+ years of experience in graphic design (ideally with labeling or packaging artwork)

Proficient with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Mac computer systems

Proficient with MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications

Experience working and communicating with international vendors

Understanding of structural design, printing, materials and manufacturing processes preferred, but not required

Experience with product rendering and photography preferred, but not required

Experience with FDA Listing process and requirements preferred, but not required
