Construction Inspector - Roads, Highways and Utilities (Downey and Baldwin Park)

Construction consulting firm is seeking Construction Inspectors with a minimum of 2 years of construction inspection experience on public works projects. Experience with flood control projects highly beneficial. Projects for this role are in the Downey and Baldwin Park regions of the Los Angeles area.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 2 years of construction inspection experience on public works projects.

Ability to interpret plans and specifications and enforce transportation codes and standards; traffic control requirements; safety requirements; environmental requirements; SWPPP compliance; and noise, dust, and erosion control.

Excellent knowledge of construction practices; physical characteristics and properties of roadway structures, drainage, and utility systems construction materials; and the approved methods and equipment used to conduct physical tests of construction materials.

DUTIES:

Perform construction inspection, quantity calculations, checking grade and alignment, material sampling and control, safeguarding, and assuring compliance with project plans, specifications and codes.

Interpret plans and specifications and make recommendations on the necessity for changes regarding the requirements for transportation, traffic control, noise, dust, erosion control and SWPPP compliance.

Make daily on-site inspection of construction project.
