Staff Accountant

DescriptionAccountemps is looking to find a talented, efficient Staff Accountant to join an esteemed organization in the Printing/Publishing industry. In the role of Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you'll have responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you'll be in communication with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, participating in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes. A good deal of time in this position will be spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments

Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision

Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules

Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

Requirements

Proven knowledge of payroll

Foundational knowledge in General Journal

Dynamics NAV experience

Well-founded grasp of payroll systems for 100-500 employees

General ledger experience

Accounts Receivable (AR) experience

Accounts Payable (AP) experience required

Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Knowledgeable of ERP systems

Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

Spreadsheet and database capabilities

2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes

Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
