Responsibilities Req ID: 66848 Observes and cares for patients based on an established plan of care Follows the plan of care as delegated, based on policy and procedure, and scope of practice Communicates observations and the effect of nursing interventions to the RN based on information from the patient /family and observed patient responses Assist in planning for discharge within the anticipated LOS Establishes a therapeutic relationship with the patient and family Participates in patient/family teaching as delegated Collaborates with nursing colleagues and the interdisciplinary team Education Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing or equivalent Qualification/Skills Experience Experience requirements vary depending on the unit specific needs and population served Skills Clinical competence in all areas of the position description and unit/service specific competencies Refer to unit/service Scope of Practice and orientation plan Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the population served; this includes knowledge of growth and development over the life span, patient requirements related to age/development and providing care based on identified patient needs Demonstrates caring behaviors of listening, respect, compassion, and accepting individuality Licensure/Certification Must possess current Minnesota Licensed Practical Nurse license BLS certification or completed within the first 3 months of employment Work Schedule .6 FTE (24 hours per week) Day/Evening rotating shifts Days: 7:00am-3:30pm Evenings: 3:00pm-11:30pm Every other weekend Benefits Eligible SEIU contract Location/Community Information Minneapolis boasts being both cosmopolitan yet small enough that you can find a place to call home whether on a lake, golf course, or in an adjoining suburb.
